Motor Vehicle Registration Renewals Now On-Line

* Development and Technology [to Apr 2008]
The Province of PEI announced today that Islanders can now renew their Prince Edward Island passenger vehicle, van or light duty truck registration on the Internet through the Province of Prince Edward Island's homepage.

Minister Mike Currie, Department of Development and Technology said "We are very pleased that we can offer this service to Islanders through the Province's web site. It means that Islanders now have three choices when it comes to vehicle registration: in person at any Access PEI site, through the 1-800 number or on the Internet."

" PEI is among the first provinces in Canada to offer this service." said Minister Don MacKinnon, Transportation and Public Works. "It will offer a convenience to Islanders, but also establishes our province as a leader in service delivery to the public."

It is important to note that the system is only in place for the renewal of passenger vehicle, van or light duty truck vehicles much the same as the interactive voice response system.

Islanders can pay directly on line for the service through the use of their Master Card or Visa credit cards.
