Appointments to the Advisory Council on the Status of Women

Pat Ballem from St. Nicholas, Council member, has been appointed as Chairperson of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women. Pat is an active member of L'Association des Acadiennes and says, "I am honoured to accept the appointment and look forward to working with the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, other Council members, and the staff, all of whom are dedicated to working on issues affecting Island women."

Rosemary Faulkner from Stratford, Council member, has accepted the role of Vice-Chairperson. Rosemary is a strong advocate for women's health.

Joan Savage, Summerside, has agreed to serve as a new Council member. Joan is a Public Health Nurse with the East Prince Health Authority.

The Advisory Council on the Status of Women will hold its next meeting June 28, 2000 in the Evangeline Region of the Province.
