Five-Star Rating For Crowbush Renewed

The Links at Crowbush Cove golf course in Lakeside has been chosen, once again, by Golf Digest as one of the ultimate golf experiences that the world has to offer. The article in the May 2000 edition of Golf Digest announces which courses have been given the prestigious five-star designation. Only 16 courses in North America were chosen and the Links at Crowbush Cove is standing strong among them.

The Export "A" Skins Game garnered excellent media exposure for both the course and Prince Edward Island as a golf destination. Crowbush first gained the five-star classification in 1998, and has remained the Island's best loved course for golf enthusiasts. The designation is for a two-year period, which means that the course has been recognized and maintained it's stature in the golf world for four consecutive years.

"It is the utmost compliment, being recognized by Golf Digest as a five-star course," noted Kevin J. MacAdam, Minister of Fisheries and Tourism. "We all know that Crowbush is a great challenge and a true beauty to look at," the Minister added, "but when a publication of this calibre determines that you are one of the best in the world, it puts the stamp of approval on the course for golfers around the globe. You can bet that this five-star rating will entice people to visit the Island and play the course."

The highly acclaimed digest, arguably the number one golf publication, notes "The Sweet 16: These courses earned the highest marks; they are the elite, the ultimate experiences, the very best golf that our part of the world has to offer."

Crowbush is one of only two courses in Canada to receive the five-star rating.
