December 22, 1999 Premier's OfficePremier Pat Binns announced today that the Province's web site now has a page where Islanders can send a message to Brad Richards, the Murray Harbour native who has made Canada's national Junior Hockey Team that will be representing Canada at the World Championship in Sweden. Premier Binns said, " This Murray Harbour native will represent our province well at this important international tournament. Brad is the first hockey player from Prince Edward Island to make the team since 1976. He is a credit to his community and his family who have supported him in his dream to become a player in the National Hockey League. I should also mention that we will be closely following Kyle Rossiter, also on Team Canada, since both of his parents are from Prince Edward Island." "I, for one, will be watching the tournament with great interest and cheering for Brad and the rest of the Canadian team. I encourage Islanders to visit the Province's web site at www.gov.pe.ca/islandties/ to send a message of encouragement to Brad. I challenge Islanders to send a message to Brad so that he receives more messages of support than any other Team Canada member. On behalf of all Islanders, I would like to congratulate Brad and to tell him how proud we are of what he has accomplished. We hope that he will have a successful tournament and will help to pave the way to the National Hockey League. We trust that Brad Richards, Kyle Rossiter and the rest of Team Canada will have an excellent tournament". Premier Binns concluded. Media Contact: Carol Mayne
