November 9, 1999 Honourable Don MacKinnon, Acting Minister of Technology and Environment, today announced approval has been granted under the Environmental Protection Act to Crowbush Cove Development Inc. to proceed with construction and operation of a resort complex in the Crowbush area. In making the announcement, Minister MacKinnon emphasized that waste water from the proposed complex will not be discharged into the marine environment but reclaimed after appropriate treatment has taken place. "Environmental approval for the Crowbush Cove project was given subject to terms and conditions, one of which ensures waste water will not be discharged into the marine environment," said Minister MacKinnon.
