Craft wholesalers from across Atlantic Canada are invited to exhibit their products at the upcoming, twenty-third annual, Atlantic Craft Trade Show in Halifax, Nova Scotia from February 6 - 8, 2000. Last year, 212 wholesalers exhibited their products, securing over $1.1-million in sales from buyers across North America. The deadline for this year's registration is October 1, 1999.
The Atlantic Craft Trade Show attracts exhibitors and buyers for the wholesale market, providing a one-stop-shopping environment for craft businesses and buyers to meet face-to-face to discuss craft products. Wholesalers display samples of their products and buyers place orders for the approaching summer season.
A major benefit of the Atlantic Craft Trade Show is that it enables wholesalers to secure orders from buyers early in February so they can have the products ready for distribution before the summer season begins. At the show, buyers are able to see new product lines and discuss the possibility of incorporating specially designed products into their retail plans.
The Atlantic Craft Trade Show also provides opportunities for new craft businesses to offer their products to hundreds of potential retail buyers at one convenient location. Buyers at the show are always looking for something new and different to sell during the summer, which is an ideal audience for craft businesses just starting out. Orders taken during the show provides the beginner with additional security for establishing their new entrepreneurial business.
The Atlantic Craft Trade Show is the largest wholesale craft show in Canada. Last year, the three-day show attracted 212 exhibitors from the four Atlantic provinces and approximately 1,500 buyers from all parts of Canada and the U.S. In 1999, the average wholesaler at the show sold approximately $7,600 worth of products. This year, show organizers are anticipating an increase in the interest from both wholesalers and buyers.
