August 19, 1999 * Agriculture and Forestry [to Oct 2003]A final agreement has been reached between the provincial government and Edwin Lewis of Freetown. The agreement was announced by Agriculture and Forestry Minister Eric Hammill. Its ends a lengthy legal process which began in 1983 after Mr. Lewis challenged the department's right to order him to spray his potato crop against ringrot. "I am very pleased that a mutually agreeable solution has been reached and that this matter has finally been resolved," said Mr. Hammill.
