Three new members will add their voices to the provincial government advisory board that works for gender rights and equality.
Lalana Paul of Melville, Madison Blanchard of Charlottetown, and Pamela Montgomery of Summerside were appointed to the Advisory Council on the Status of Women.
“These new appointees, together with the other council members, will make a difference in the lives of Island women and girls in our province,” said Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy Minister Paula Biggar, who is minister responsible for the Status of Women. “Every time there are new appointments to Council it is an opportunity for fresh ideas, and I look forward to working with these passionately dedicated women.”
All three members applied to join the council through Engage PEI, which helps Islanders apply to volunteer on more than 70 provincial government agencies, boards, and commissions. With these appointments, there are currently no vacancies remaining on the Advisory Council on the Status of Women.
