Statement from Lieutenant Governor Frank Lewis on the death of the Honourable Barbara A. Hagerman

Their Honours the Honourable H. Frank Lewis and Mrs. Dorothy Lewis join others in expressing their condolences to the family and friends on the death of former Prince Edward Island Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Barbara Hagerman.

"Former Lieutenant Governor Hagerman was deeply and passionately dedicated to her duties and responsibilities as Her Majesty's representative to this province," said His Honour. "She brought her love of music to Government House in an unprecedented way. Music, and her compassionate action on behalf of international students in PEI are hallmarks of her time as lieutenant governor. Dorothy and I extend our sympathies to Nelson Hagerman, their children Kurt and Brynne and their families and add how we admire her courage since her cancer diagnosis."

In recognition of former Lieutenant Governor Hagerman, the flags at Government House will be lowered to half mast until after her funeral service.
