Heroes, sailors and spies - Island students celebrating Canadian heritage

Education, Early Learning and Culture
Nearly 200 Island students presented Canadian heritage projects at this year’s provincial Heritage Fair, says Education, Early Learning and Culture Minister Doug Currie.

“With over 2000 students participating in school-based heritage fairs, Island students showed their talent and creativity in putting together projects on Canadian history and culture,” said Minister Currie. “There are wonderful things happening in Island schools and the annual provincial Heritage Fair is a great opportunity for students to show off their hard work.”

Twelve finalists will be invited to participate in the National Young Citizen’s video contest where they create a video of their Heritage Fair project and share it online at www.YoungCitizens.ca for Canadians to watch and vote. Two Island students will be selected to participate in a Youth Forum in Ottawa, with their peers from across Canada.
