Department to replace Gully Bridge in Miminegash

The Gully Bridge will be replaced with a larger bridge during the 2016 construction season, says Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy Minister Paula Biggar.

“The Gully Bridge occupies a strategic position in Prince County. What we have seen this spring is that some of the approach roads near the bridge - though not the bridge itself - being affected by erosion,” said Minister Biggar.

“In the last week staff of my department visited the bridge to carry out inspections. Following their analysis our government has decided to begin work on designing and building a new bridge at this location.”

The Gully Bridge is located on Route 14 in Miminegash. In recent years there have been incidents in which erosion has affected the road bed near the road structure.

Replacement of the bridge is expected to cost in the vicinity of $350,000
