Workforce and Advanced Learning Minister Richard Brown extended congratulations to Holland College which tied for first place in reputation scores for post-secondary institutions across Atlantic Canada, according to the recent survey, the Atlantic Higher Education Reputation Monitor by Corporate Research Associates.

“Holland College is an exceptional learning institution, and I’m thrilled to see its success in this recent survey,” said Minister Brown. “The students, staff, and faculty members should be proud, as we know education is key to improved employment opportunities and a highly competitive economy.”

Holland College surpassed the regional survey average of 78 per cent with respondents rating the College 83 per cent overall. It achieved an incredible 99 per cent familiarity rating—which demonstrates that the College is indeed on the map, and known to current and future students wishing to pursue postsecondary education.

The minister reiterated that while rankings are not everything to postsecondary institutions, they can be useful tools in contributing to planning, growth, and the overall improvement of the College.

The Atlantic Higher Education Reputation Monitor is based on 1,502 telephone interviews with Atlantic Canadians aged 18 years or older (n=401 in each of NS and NB, n=400 in NL, and n=300 in PE).The survey was conducted in May of 2015. The margin of error for 400-401(NS, NB, and NL) is +/- 4.9 percentage points, and 300 (PE) is+/-5.6 percentage points, in 95 out of 100 samples. Last week, the minister also congratulated UPEI on its recent university rankings, which speaks to the excellence of our Island’s postsecondary institutions.
