French author to visit Island schools and libraries

Education, Early Learning and Culture
French speaking elementary students will have an opportunity to meet novelist Jean-Claude Basque next week, says Education, Early Learning and Culture Minister Hal Perry.

“Every year the Public Library Service helps connect children with talented authors and artists,” said Minister Perry. “This is a great way for students to hear works in the voice of the author and help cultivate a life-long love of books and reading.”

Basque will be visiting Island French schools to meet with Grades 3-6 students. The New Brunswick native has written three French novels about an avian police chief in Moncton.

All stops on the author tour are free and open to the public.

Mr. Basque’s schedule is as follows:

Monday, November 2

• École Saint-Augustin, Rustico from 9:00am - 10:00am

• Bibliothèque J.-Henri-Blanchard, Summerside from 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Tuesday, November 3
