Statement on the new RCMP commanding officer

Justice and Public Safety
The following is a statement from Premier and Minister of Justice and Public Safety Wade MacLauchlan:

On behalf of the province of Prince Edward Island, I congratulate Chief Superintendent Joanne Crampton on being named the RCMP L Division’s commanding officer. The RCMP is the province’s police service whose resources and expertise support police across the province in ensuring public safety. C/Supt. Crampton will serve the RCMP and her fellow Islanders with honor and distinction in this very important role.

Please also join me in expressing our gratitude to C/Supt. Craig Gibson for his service as L Division’s previous commanding officer, and wishing him well in his new post as director general for Recruiting Modernization and Human Resources Transformation at national headquarters.
