2015 Provincial General Election

Elections PEI has conducted the first advanced polls for the 2015 Provincial General Election on Saturday, April 25, 2015 and recorded 11,889 people who voted.

In the 2011 Provincial General Election, a total of 21,017 people voted in the three days of advance polling.

"The polls were extremely busy in the morning," states Gary McLeod, Chief Electoral Officer. "We had people waiting to vote in all locations when the polls opened and the line ups were longer than anticipated for the first few hours. By the afternoon, all locations reported very minimal wait times and the process was running smoothly."

McLeod states, "We are examining the process that is being used at the polls and implementing modifications to improve the time required to process an elector. Traditionally, there has only been one polling station utilized for each District during the advance polls as this poll was designed to be a special voting time. I understand there is a need to improve on our process and will be working to develop this in the future."

Additional advance polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 27th and on Friday May 1. Additional inquires as to where to vote can be made through our website at www.electionspei.ca.
